Greeting
HHHJapan(Helping Hands) was founded by me in 2009. Together with Helping Hands and Hearts Foundation, a Manila-based NGO that was already active in the region at the time, we launched this international organization to collaborate on local educational support and health and hygiene projects. In the beginning, we had no funding, and our motivation for international activities was the driving force behind the organization.
At the time, I had just left my corporate job to start my own business, and my only concern was to ensure that the language school I had founded would survive. At the same time, I had been trying to achieve Helping Hands’ vision of “creating a multicultural society” through language classes and international exchanges as two interlocking wheels.
Thanks to Helping Hands, I have met wonderful people and have been able to continue to grow, albeit gradually. In the process of growth, we sometimes faced big obstacles, but each time we saw it as an opportunity to grow, we faced it, improved it, and overcame it.
We are striving every day to contribute to the future of Japan through our multicultural activities, which we aim to realize by developing from grassroots international exchanges.
We would be happy if you could get to know us better through this website. And we look forward to growing together as like-minded people.
HHHJapan, Chairman
Naoteru Honda
About us
HHHJapan is working on the mission of “realizing multicultural symbiosis”. Communication in local languages is one of the most important things to achieve it. By increasing the number of people who understand the Japanese language and culture, we can expand our friendship and understanding of Japan to the world. It also promotes one of the important grassroots activities to build a peaceful world by respecting different cultures. We hope that as many foreigners as possible can improve their Japanese skills to enrich their lives and play an active role globally.
We have taught the Japanese language for over 15 years. We have volunteer tutor lessons, lessons taught by professional teachers, and online lessons. Besides Japanese, we also have lessons in English, French, Spanish, etc. We also provide workshops in global understanding for elementary and junior high school students. In our seminars about countries around the world, we introduce students to more than 50 countries – all supported by the Nagoya city government.
Education is not the only part of our mission. For over 15 years, Helping Hands has been doing international cooperation projects in Southeast Asia. On Leyte Island in The Philippines, for example, we have been working to plant more than 50,000 trees with agroforestry technology to help combat the effects of climate change. This ambitious reforestation initiative was made possible by a generous subsidy from Toyota Motor Corporation, Mitsui & CO., LTD, and so on. Thank you for your support. Love all Serve all
