Internship Program
Internship Activities
Practical programs for learning overseas work, domestic NPO activities, environmental action, Japanese education and multicultural coexistence
Helping Hands and Hearts Japan has carried out internship activities where students learn practical skills through overseas work, domestic NPO activities, international cooperation, environmental action, Japanese language education, multicultural coexistence and nonprofit management.
In our internships, students do not simply observe activities. We value experiences where students research, think, plan, write, communicate and interact with people. This page organizes HHAHJ’s practical learning records, including overseas internships in the Philippines, domestic internships for international students in Japan, climate action activities and Japanese education activities.

Purpose of the Internship Activities
HHHJapan’s internship activities aim to help students understand social issues as their own concerns and deepen their learning through real NPO activities.
Students learn about overseas work, international cooperation, environmental issues, climate change, Japanese language education, support for foreign residents and domestic multicultural coexistence activities through practical field-based work that cannot be fully understood from classrooms or documents alone.
Four Pillars of the Internship Activities
Because HHAHJ’s internships differ by year and program style, they can be understood more clearly by organizing them into four main pillars.
Overseas Work and International Cooperation
Activities in which students learn practical work, classes, presentations and local exchange in English at companies and vocational training institutions in the Philippines.
Domestic NPO and Multicultural Coexistence
Activities in Japan where international students learn NPO management, international exchange, food education, event operation and information sharing.
Environment and Climate Action
Activities in which students communicate about climate change, disaster recovery, agroforestry and crowdfunding.
Japanese Education and Community Support
Activities related to Japanese class management, learning support for foreign students, classroom marketing and multicultural coexistence.
Features of the Activities
In HHHJapan’s internship activities, we value students’ involvement in real activities, their understanding of social issues and their ability to communicate what they learn in their own words.
The activities differ by year and theme, including overseas practical work, domestic NPO activities for international students, environmental and climate action projects, and Japanese education. However, all of them emphasize learning, thinking and taking action in the field.
Activities That Go Beyond Seeing, Listening and Thinking
Interns faced social issues through activities such as lesson practice, document creation, web page production, event operation, meeting participation, crowdfunding planning, Japanese lesson experience and public communication.

External Pages Created by Interns
In the 2021, 2022 and 2023 internships, interns organized their activities and shared them through external pages. These pages are not simply introduction pages, but also learning outcomes created, structured, designed and published by the students themselves.
On the official HHHJapan website, we organize the official activity reports from the organization’s perspective, while also linking to the pages created by the interns at that time so that the value of their work remains visible.
Role of HHHJapan’s Official Pages
The pages within the HHHJapan official website organize the background, purpose, activities, learning outcomes and significance of each internship from the organization’s perspective.
Role of the External Student Pages
The external pages created with Peraichi preserve the interns’ own perspectives and expressions as learning outcomes.
What Students Learned through the Activities
Through the internships, students not only learned about social issues, but also practiced communicating with others, shaping ideas into projects, thinking about messages that reach people and acting according to real situations.

Students learned about modern social issues through concrete activities, including overseas work, climate change, disaster recovery, international cooperation, Japanese education, support for foreign residents and domestic multicultural activities.

Connecting Learning to Future Action
The internships aimed to connect students’ experiences to their future paths, studies, interest in international cooperation, multicultural coexistence, education and social participation.
Meaning of the Internship Activities for HHHJapan
Helping Hands and Hearts Japan values multicultural coexistence, education, international cooperation and environmental action. Internship activities are important initiatives that pass these activities on to younger generations and create opportunities for the next generation to engage with social issues.
When students learn through activities and communicate from their own perspectives, it also creates great value for the organization. We hope to continue creating opportunities where students can connect with society, test their abilities and deepen their learning.
